Hyderabad: Dacoits reportedly stabbed a businessman near APPA junction on the Outer Ring Road. However, the police rejected reports of any such incident and said the victim has injured himself and is making up a story to evade his creditors.

The alleged victim,  Vinod Kumar, a native of  Kothakota in Mahbubnagar district, said that robbers attacked him and snatched Rs 7 lakh in cash and also took away his car while he was on way to Hyderabad. He said the attackers came on a motorcycle and intercepted his car.

The police, however, said that Vinod himself hatched the plan and injured himself. “There was no attack. We found he has blade injuries on his abdomen, which he himself did,” said Narsingi inspector P. Ramachandra Rao.
