Pakistan's Punjab home minister killed in suicide attack

The attack took place at the minister’s political office at his native village

Islamabad/Lahore: The home minister of Pakistan’s Punjab province, Shuja Khanzada, 71, who was known for his tough anti-Taliban stance, was assassinated Sunday by two suicide bombers who blew themselves up at his ancestral home, killing at least 19 people in the attack.

A police deputy superintendent was among those killed. The attack took place at the minister’s political office at his native village, Shadi Khan, in Attock district, officials said. At least 17 other people were hurt.
