Hyderabad: The Telangana State Council of Higher Education will issue notices to the premier Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology for alleged violation of rules in filling up category B seats. This is after a student claimed that a seat rightfully belonging to her was filled by a student ranked lower than her.

Last week, three other prestigious colleges — G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Sciences, Marri Laxman Reddy Group of Institutions, MJ College of Engineering and Technology and CMR Group of Institutions — were issued notices for violation of category B admission procedure.

The latest complaints received are pertaining to CBIT. There are allegations that lower-ranked students were admitted under the category B, or management quota, after announcing there are no vacancies.

TSCHE chairman Prof. T. Papi Reddy asked secretary Dr N. Srinivasa Rao to issue notices to CBIT.
