A still from Jigina
Director-producer Lingusamy has a knack of picking unconventional scripts. The film Jigina is the latest one which has been acquired by his banner Thirrupathi Brothers. Talking about the storyline, Lingusamy says, “Jigina is a must for today’s society. The movie talks about the perils of social networking and the dangerous practice of using false identities in online space that prevails among youngsters. My friend Ravi Nandha Periysamy who directs the film, is directing the film after doing intense research. I felt these types of scripts are the need of the hour. They carry a huge message.” While Vijay Vasanth and Sania Thara play the lead pair, Singampuli will be seen in a crucial character.

Meanwhile, the Paiyaa director cleared the air surrounding the rumour about his company having purchased Thoongavanam, the upcoming venture of Kamal Haasan. “There’s a rumour making the rounds that Thirrupathi Brothers has bought Thoongavanam’s city and NSC release rights. It is totally false. Apart from Jigina, our forthcoming releases include Rajini Murugan and Idam Porul Eval.”
