THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Confederation of Residents Association (Confra) staged a protest in front of the secretariat on Tuesday. Locals raised a series of issues faced by them in the state capital ranging  from the stray dog menace to waste management.

A two-metre canvass was erected in front of the secretariat to facilitate the public to write down their grievances.

General secretary of Confra M. Sasidharan Nair said that as many as 100 people expressed solidarity with the cause and wrote on the canvass about the issues faced by them.

“We will be submitting a memorandum to the government on the issues being faced by us. Stray dog menace tops the list. There are so many people who are supporting animal rights, but there is nobody to stand for the dog bite victims,” Mr Nair said.
