Hyderabad: T. Gopi Krishna and professor Ch. Balram Kishan, the two Telugus kidnapped by IS terrorists in Libya, are yet to be rescued.

Sirte University officials spoke to professor Balram Kishan’s wife Sridevi on Sunday morning and told her that discussions with the abductors were progressing, and that they would be released soon. No other information was given.

The families of the two kidnapped teachers met Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya on Sunday and sought his help. He assured that he would take the matter up with the external affairs ministry.

“I am going to Delhi. I will apprise external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj of the situation,” said Mr Dattatreya. “It is mental agony for me and my children, I request the external affairs minister and the Prime Minister to take quick action,” Ms Sridevi said.
