Hyderabad: Dr Avinash Chander, former Director General of DRDO, said former President Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam's death is a great loss to the entire humanity. “Till the last day he was interacting with people. Working with him made us better human beings, technically and otherwise. The missile complex today, what it is, is all his creation,” he said.

“I worked with him for 20 years, directly under him. We had interaction almost on a daily basis. In 1982, the Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme started with him. He was a scientific advisor. Later, as a president also, he was continuously involved, always available for guidance and support.

“After the Agni V launch he was one of the first to congratulate us. He was always available for suggestions and helping us with technical advice,” Mr Chander recalled.

“He was one of the greatest human beings we have seen, both as a leader and an individual. He was always looking to get the best out of each individual,” Mr Chander added.
