KARIMNAGAR: Nizamabad MP K. Kavita opined that Telangana government doesn’t need appreciation from former Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal for conducting Pushkaralu on a grand note with elaborate arrangements. 
 
She spoke to the media after performing Pinda Pradanam to Telangana martyrs at Bornapalli village of Raikal mandal on Tuesday. She had holy dip at ghats near Bornapalli, Erdandi of Ibrahimpatnam and Valgonda of Mallapur mandals. She was accompanied by ZP chairperson Tula Uma and Korutla MLA K. Vidyasagar Rao. 
 
It may be recalled that Mr Rajagopal, who opposed creation of a separate state, showered praises on TRS-led government for making elaborate arrangements for Godavari Pushkaralu Ms Kavita sought an explanation from Mr Rajagopal as to why Telangana was not developed in the past. 
 
1.10 cr take dip in district:
 
According to information provided by district authorities, around 40 per cent of total number of devotees took dip at various ghats erected at 22 venues in the district from July 14 to 21. 
 
As many as 1,10,10,759 crore pilgrims took the holy dip at ghats of the district in the past eight days. A total of around 2.80 devotees had the dip across Telangana state so far.  As per statistics given by the authorities, 3,67,604 devotees took holy dip on the maiden day of Pushkaralu, while the second day registered 5,68,028 pilgrims. A sum of 3,92,003 and 13,05,080 devotees had dip on July 16 and 17, respectively. 
 
The inflow of gained momentum on the fifth day of the mega event and registered 27,09,427 devotees on July 18. The influx began declining from the sixth day as indicated by dip in turnout of devotees.
