Hyderabad: The AP government has offered free land, while retaining ownership, to the Singapore government to attract foreign companies, including firms based in the island nation, to build Amaravati.

In response to Singapore minister S. Iswaran expressing interest in taking part in the construction of Amaravati, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu asked the Singapore government to apply to be a partner in the construction plans. According to top sources, Mr Naidu and senior officials discussed with Mr Iswaran, the procedure to be adopted to select the Amaravati development partner — the master developer — for the construction of the capital. A senior official said semi-government companies of Singapore such as Surbana and Jurong could not apply to be master developer.
