Telangana not ready to share its waters

Hyderabad: The TS government has informed the working group on Inter-Linking of River Waters, that the state has no surplus flow available at Godavari or Krishna to share.

At a meeting held in New Delhi on Monday presided over by Union minister of state for water resources Prof. Sanwar Lal Jat, the advisor on irrigation for TS, R. Vidyasagara Rao said TS Telangana, however, will have no objection in receiving additional water from other states through the inter-linking of rivers.

He also said TS had been subjected to injustices in allocation and utilisation of river water earlier.

Principal secretary, irrigation for AP, B. Adityanath Das said that AP is not against inter-linking Godavari-Krishna-Pennar with Palaar-Kaveri in Tamil Nadu using surplus water for the benefit of AP and TN. He added that the AP will respond on this matter once project reports are read.
