One killed in fight during cricket match in Srikakulam town

Srikakulam: A college student, who sustained serious head injuries in a fight during a cricket match in the Bondilipuram area of Srikakulam town on Saturday, died in a private hospital later while undergoing treatment.
The victim, P. Ajay Kumar, 19, was a second year B.Sc student and resident of Bondilipuram area. Sources said the youngsters played a cricket match on Saturday and there was a scuffle over a wide ball.
During the match, the bowler of one team delivered an outside the off side ball. The batsman said that it was a wide delivery, but the bowling team refused to admit that and this led to heated arguments.
Kishore Kumar, a B.Tech student and player in one team hit Ajay Kumar of the other team on head with a cricket bat and also punched him in the face. The seriously injured Ajay collapsed and was admitted to a private hospital. Cops of II-Town police station registered a case. Sources in the police said Kishore fled after the incident.
