Minor girl rescued from kidnapper in Chandragiri
The accused is being sent to judicial custody
Hyderabad: The police on Thursday rescued a minor girl from a kidnapper in the Chandragiri area of Jagadgirigutta. The man kidnapped and raped the girl.
Police said the accused Sheikh Mehboob, 22, is a resident of Kishanbagh and a daily wager. The victim, 17, is studying Intermediate in Mehdipatnam. Mehboob saw her last year and proposed, but she refused. Even after repeated attempts when she did not accept him, he became angry.
On July 1, when Mehboob, tried to speak to the girl she was reluctant to reply. “He kidnapped, forcibly married and raped her,” said inspector Kushal Kumar.
Based on a complaint from the victim’s mother Anasuya, police registered a case. The accused is being sent to judicial custody. The victim was handed over to her family after counselling and a medical check-up.
