Vodafone partners Walmart to enable payment through M-Pesa

The facility will initially be available at Walmart stores in Hyderabad

Mumbai: Telecom major Vodafone entered into a strategic partnership with retailer Walmart  India to enable its business members make payments using the telco's mobile wallet service M-Pesa. "This tie-up will enable business members of Best Price Modern Wholesale stores of Walmart to make payments using M-Pesa from their mobiles," Vodafone India said in a  statement.   

The facility will initially be available at Walmart stores in Lucknow, Amravati, Aurangabad, Hyderabad, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada and Guntur. The companies are also planning to expand the service    to all cities where Walmart is present.
