New Delhi: An infant child died on Tuesday after multiple government hospitals in the city refused him admission.

Delhi Health Minister Satyender Kumar Jain said that the case needs to be investigated.

"The child was first taken to Kalawati Saran hospital and then to RML, neither of which come under the Delhi government – they come under the Central government. He was then taken to LNJP, where they started treating him but it was too late. As far as reports are stating that he was not admitted: in emergency cases, the treatments starts at a priority, but the admission can take place later," he said.

"It needs to be investigated why the child was refused admission at the two hospitals," he added.
