AP government launches free Wi-Fi facility in beach road and IT SEZ

VisakhapatnamAs part of Digital India Week, the AP government had launched a free Wi-Fi facility on the beach road, Vuda Park and IT SEZ on Monday in Visakhapatnam. On this occasion, HRD minister Ganta Srini-vasa Rao said that the state government is welcoming IT companies with a red carpet and several IT giants have already evinced interest to set up their offices in Visakhapatnam. Mr Sri-nivasa Rao said that all the schools in the state will be equipped with computers and all the universities with Wi-Fi facility soon. 
 
Mr Srinivasa Rao also added that there is a proposal of connecting every household in the state with high-speed Internet connection. In the morning, the district administration had organised a 2-kilometre run at Ramakrishna Beach to make the people aware of Digital India Week and several politicos and officials from the district had participated in the event, including HRD minister Srinivasa Rao, Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G.S.N. Raju and district Collector Dr N. Yuvraj among others.
 
State IT secretary B. Sridhar said that creating an e-literate from every household is the government’s aim. He also said all the government services will soon be available through e-governance.
