Vyapam scam: No foul play in death of Dr Arun Sharma, says Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi

Bassi also assured that the Delhi police would leave no stone unturned to bring out the truth

New Delhi: Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi on Monday said that according to the prima facie evidence, no 'foul play' was observed in the death of Madhya Pradesh college dean Dr. Arun Sharma.

"We are carefully investigating the matter. No foul play was observed as per prima facie evidence. A medical board was constituted to conduct post mortem," Bassi said.

"We are also in touch with late Dr. Arun Sharma's family so we get to know about local factors that can give indication of foul play," he added.

Bassi also assured that the Delhi police would leave no stone unturned to bring out the truth.

"Our crime team inspected the spot where the incident took place. So, no relevant physical evidence goes unnoticed. The CCTV footage was also recovered," he said.

Dr. Sharma was found dead in a Delhi hotel on Sunday morning. His body was found in the Uppal Hotel near the Indira Gandhi International airport.
