Mumbai: Pakistan Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq – usually a specialist in the longer format – has a chance to show his T20 skills. The veteran is set to replace compatriot Shoaib Malik in Barbados Tridents for the remaining matches of Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

According to sources, Malik will fly to Sri Lanka for the ODI series.

Former Australia cricketer and CPL director Tom Moody lauded Malik’s efforts in the T20 tournament and according to a report in the Dawn, expressed happiness for the cricketer who won his position back in the national team.

Moody also described Misbah as one of the ‘respected cricketers in the world’.

Earlier, the right-hander turned out for St. Lucia Zouks and made 2,635 runs at an average of 36.
