PV Narasimha life to be taught in Telangana schools

Hyderabad/KarimnagarThe life history of the late former prime minister P.V. Narasimha Rao will be taught in schools in Telangana. The announcement was made by TRS Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar at a function to mark the 94th birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister. A statue of Narasimha Rao will be installed in Karimnagar town soon, Mr Kumar said. Narasimha Rao, the 10th Prime Minister, was born on June 28, 1921, at Karimnagar.
 
In Hyderabad, rich tributes were paid to Narasimha Rao at a state function at PV Gyan Bhoomi. Leaders cutting across party lines visited the memorial on the banks of the Hussainsagar and paid floral tributes. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had declared the former PM’s birth anniversary as a state festival last year, soon after the formation of Telangana State. AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh, in-charge of Congress affairs in Telangana and AP, said after paying homage: “P.V. Narasimha Rao was an intellectual leader who had wide experience in politics, social service and governance. He was a man of high intellect and a very high degree of political and idealogical commitment.”
