Taipei: The number of people injured in an explosion at a water park in Taiwan has more than doubled to over 500, authorities said Sunday, after tracking down hundreds of victims who took themselves to hospital or were taken by others in the crowd.

Taipei health official Lee Lih-jong said 509 people had been injured, 188 of them seriously, when a ball of fire ripped through a crowd at the park outside the Taiwanese capital Saturday after coloured powder being sprayed on the partygoers ignited.
