HyderabadActor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan took to Twitter to make an oblique comment about the political situation in the two Telugu states and their leaders. He did not mention names, but indirectly warned the leaders not to drag any issue too much, as it would affect the people. He took the example of the South African anti-aparthied icon Nelson Mandela to give local leaders a lesson.

Pawan Kalyan has maintained silence on the cash-for-vote issue in which TD MLA A. Revanth Reddy has been arrested. In a series of tweets, the actor said, “If politics is all about settling scores, then I wonder, if, the late Nelson Mandela would have had the same attitude like some of our leaders... then imagine what he could have done  to the South African Apartheid Regime and white people who tortured & humiliated him & the black people for decades (sic).”

“But as a leader he has chosen the path of reconciliation to avoid a civil war and for the larger good of the people. That’s the greatness of his noble leadership and I hope our leaders walk on the path that he has shown. Still, if the leaders take it to that extent, then the very people who put them in power will suffer. And one has to be aware of it. (sic),” he said.
