Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Saturday felicitated Barnala lad Satnam Singh Bhamara for making the state proud by becoming the first Indian basketball player to be drafted into the NBA League.

In a congratulatory message, the Chief Minister said that it was a matter of great honour for all Punjabis that Bhamara who hails from Ballo Ke village in Barnala district had made niche in USA?s prestigious NBA league with his sheer hard work and dedication.

He hoped that Satnam?s rare accomplishment would go a long way to inspire millions of his pears who strive hard to excel in the arena of sports.

Wishing him a bright future and success in his life, the Chief Minister expressed hope that Satnam - the son of soil would further bring more laurels to the state in the field of sports. He also congratulated the parents, friends and relatives of Satnam on his rare feat.
