Chennai: After playing a sizzling hot lady cop in Sandamarutham, Oviya will be seen in a direly contrasting and homely character in her forthcoming movie Seeni, which has a tagline ‘Sugar Free’. Sanjeevi debuts as the lead hero. Directed by Rajadurai, the film will see an elephant named Seetha play a major role, with noted comedian Senthil portraying its mahout Veerabahu.

Talking about the film Rajadurai says, “This movie will bring to mind the flavour and thrill of late ace producer Chinnappa Devar’s flicks which mostly revolved around animals, despite having big stars. A Madurai based story, Seeni is a full-fledged comedy galatta where the hero aims at becoming a successful entrepreneur after turning down a government job. How Oviya and the elephant help him in his endeavour forms the crux of the movie.”

Oviya was initially scared to go near the elephant, but Sanjeevi assisted her and gave all the courage needed. “We shot for  19 days with the elephant. Oviva seemed cool before we commenced. She was saying that she wouldn’t be afraid of the majestic mammal since there was an elephant camp near her house in Trissur in Kerala and that as a child she had played with them fearlessly. But on the first day, she was trembling with fear, and it was our hero Sanjeevi who had done his homework with the tame elephant who came to her rescue.” The movie also has a host of comedians.
