KCR promises Rs 100 crore for Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple

VEMULAWADA (KARIMNAGAR)Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao announced an immediate grant of Rs 100 crore for the development of ancient Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada and vowed to improve infrastructure and facilities by forming a special authority in the forthcoming Cabinet meeting. 
 
He convened a review meeting with authorities of the temple and various departments over steps to be taken to develop the shrine here on Thursday. 
Mr Rao, who was on his mai-den visit to the temple after assuming Chief Minister’s throne, along with his family members, party leaders and officials, spent over seven hours in the town performing prayers and discussing with officials. He said that development of the temple was the need of the hour as it was unable to meet the demands of growing influx of devotees.
 
He said that suggestions of pontiffs of Sringeri and Kan-chi Kamakoti would be taken to renovate the main temple except sanctum sanctorum.
