The parking lot project at Kacherippady is estimated to cost Rs 44 crore
Kochi: The Partner Kerala Mission of the State Government is set to showcase a slew of projects in the city that will lift its profile as the Kochi Metro Rail makes its debut.
The projects that will be showcased are the parking slot project associated with Kochi Metro Rail station at Kacherippady, the modern abattoir at Mattancherry, public parking and multi-functional complex at Edappally and the convention centre at Cheranallore.
The parking lot project at Kacherippady is estimated to cost Rs 44 crore and will come up on 85 cents of land while the modern abattoir will cost Rs 22 crore and there is currently nearly 60 cents on which it is planned.
The public park and multifunctional complex is expected to come up on 2 acres of land at a cost of Rs 50 crore and the Cheranellore convention centre is expected to cost Rs 200 crore and is planned over four acres of land.
Some of these projects have already been in the pipeline but they are being included in the Partner Kerala Mission to find suitable investors to implement them fast and efficiently on public-private partnership (PPP) by finding a suitable private bidder.
“All these projects will come up on the plots owned by Kochi Corporation and will be run by the private players for 25 years. Two percent of the fair value of the land will be handed over to the Corporation by the successful bidder on the day of signing of the agreement. A percentage of revenue will be shared with the Kochi Corporation by the private party and the project will be handed over to the Corporation at the end of 25 years,” said E K Prakash, CEO, Partner Kerala Mission.
The last day of bidding is June 30 and Partner Kerala Mission officials are currently holding meetings in different places to invite bidders. The meeting in Kochi was held on June 8, in Kottayam it will take place on Friday while the meeting in Kozhikode is scheduled for Saturday.
