Jayalalithaa case: Karnataka government to appeal in Supreme Court

A decision to file an appeal in the apex court had already been taken in the State Cabinet

Bengaluru: Karnataka will file an appeal in Supreme Court within one week questioning the verdict of high court acquitting Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalitha in disproporianate assets case, said Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T B Jayachandra.

A decision to file an appeal in the apex court had already been taken in the State Cabinet. Senior advocate, Mr B V Acharya had been appointed as special public prosecutor and he was preparing to file the appeal within a week. There was no change in the Karnataka government stand on this case, he said.
