New Delhi: AAP Delhi convenor Ashutosh said the arrest was a conspiracy hatched in the home ministry at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The police arrested Mr Tomar, who claims a  law degree from Tilkamanjhi University in Bhagalpur in Bihar, from his house in Shakurpur, and took him to the anti-auto theft squad office here for questioning.

Meanwhile, Jitendra Tomar sent his resignation to the CM, who accepted it. Now, it will be sent to the Lieutenant-Governor on Wednesday morning,” said Mr Sisodia.

The ongoing tussle between the AAP government and the L-G over  transfer and posting of Delhi officers escalated with the state administration telling the Union home ministry it did not require the services of  its home secretary, Dharampal, who had appointed joint commissioner of police M.K. Meena as the head of the anti-corruption branch.

Mr Dharampal is said to have issued Mr Meena’s transfer orders on the directions of the L-G. Sources said the LG has stalled the transfer of the home secretary.
