Fatullah: Bangladesh has a new gloveman. Litton Das – the 20-year-old – is likely to stay behind wickets in the one-off Test against India starting June 10 after Mushfiqur Rahim injured his right ring finger during the series against Pakistan in April.

Das was seen wicketkeeping on Bangladesh’s first day of training while Rahim concentrated on batting.

If Das dons the Test cap, it will be a huge exposure for the youngster.

However, it seems Bangladesh is keeping all their options open and not leaving a stone unturned preparing for the series.

Das’ magnificent performance in the first class season of 2014-15 – where he scored more than 1,000 runs at an average of 81.14 (five tons, four fifties) in 15 innings – earned him the national cap against Pakistan in the recently concluded series.

He has played the role of an opening batsman but is able to bat at any position.
