Kozhikode: Malappuram municipality, which is set to convert the area into a WiFi town, has decided to utilize the WiFi system to implement E-Tutor facility for the students of classes from one to 12.  E-Tutor Virtual Learning provides in-depth curriculum to students with subject-wise detailed lectures, notes, question papers and work areas.

The project implemented with the support of BSNL aims at promoting learning and increasing students’ knowledge in specific subjects and topics through targeted components detailed in each lesson module and lectures of noted educators in the region.

Municipal chairman K.P. Mustafa said, “our plan was initially to introduce WiFi technology in the municipality, but later we decided to use  the facility to help the students. E- Tutor  will have the complete subject and chapter-wise details of each class, which can help students  go through their lessons any time according to their convenience.”

“Using these services, students will get access to an intelligent math programme with unlimited practice questions, animated content and lessons for all subjects as per school curriculum, practice papers and much more.  It also will increase basic academic skills such as reading, spelling and knowledge of history, science and mathematics and assist  in evaluating and synthesising information,” he added.

The most-densely populated areas in the town will get WiFi connectivity in the first phase. By July, WiFi will be arranged in the municipal office and on its premises.
