According to reports he was even asked if he ever took down Salman Khan, to which he promptly replied, “I haven't played with him, but if he ever play chess, then he will play with (gesturing to his muscles).”
He said, "I have played with many people on the sets, actually whoever I found I played with them. But, if you ask about actors, then I have played with Shammi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal.”
He also said that he loved the game and often played it to keep himself occupied while on his movie sets.
He admitted that his co-star was a ‘good player’, but wasn’t good enough to make him lose the match.
He also said that his ‘Dhoom’ co-star Katrina Kaif ‘almost’ took him down while playing the game.
Aamir sat down for a group interview with the media before the friendly match. There he revealed that he had played the game with several Bollywood stars and had won several times.
The actor said that he was a chess enthusiast, and that he had been playing for a very long time since he first picked it up from his grandmother when he was 6 years old.
At the event, he said, “I am a huge fan of Anand. The opportunity to play with him is something I would never let go off. I want to thank Vishy (Viswanathan Anand) for being so nice to accept this game. I certainly do not deserve to play this game
Aamir challenged the player to a game to a match, which he willingly accepted. Knowing what he had got himself into Aamir was willing to go down with a crushing defeat.
The actor, who is huge fan of the chess superstar, didn’t want to miss an opportunity to beat the master at his own game.
Khan and Viswanathan were invited over to inaugurate the 3rd edition of the Maharashtra Chess League that will see several children in the state square off against others their age to win the coveted title.
