She is a bold and beautiful actress. Honey Rose, whose career has been on the ascendant, doesn’t want to get into any controversy and has made the decision to avoid doing lip-lock scenes in her upcoming films. The actress had done a lip-lock with Murali Gopi in the movie One By Two. To her great disappointment, this scene was used to promote the film.

Honey says, “I agreed to do a lip-lock scene only because the character in the movie demanded it. It is an intense scene not involving any kind of vulgarity. Once the promo was out, the scene which I did for the sake of the story was used as a marketing strategy. That particular lip-lock scene was highlighted everywhere and that in fact broke my heart. Personally, I do not like to do such intense scenes but when the character or the script demands it, as actors we do it wanting to be true to the character and see it as adding value to the profession. I was totally disappointed when it was used for the promotion of the movie and this made me decide never to do such a scene again. I am not here to create controversies in the industry but am only following my passion for acting.” She is of the firm opinion that her decision will impact the roles that will come her way.

Honey is undoubtedly the boldest among contemporary actresses in the Malayalam movie industry. The actress has stunned her fans with her bold portrayals in Trivandrum Lodge and One By Two. She is active on social media like Facebook, but she has never faced negative comments because of her character portrayals in films.

“Trivandrum Lodge was a benchmark in my career. Prior to this movie, my career was on a swing. There were controversies regarding the style of making that movie and its characters. The movie’s good and bad points were widely discussed by the audience. Friends who follow me in Facebook wrote good reviews of my role in it. I have never really been trolled on the social media,” says the actress.

The pretty actress after doing a series of bold character roles is now looking for a complete change. Two of her films will be released this month on two consecutive Fridays. “In fact, this is not the first time my films are released on successive Fridays. Last year, One by Two and Ringmaster were released one week apart.”

This time, her films Sir CP and Kumbasaram are being released. She says, “Meera in Kumbasaram is an intense character that has depth, is realistic and emotionally strong. So I found it challenging and moving.”

Meanwhile, Honey Rose is committed to working in several films and this will be a busy year for the actress. The highlight will be Kanal directed by M. Padmakumar, in which she plays opposite Mohanlal for the first time.

“I am sure it is going to be a novel experience. I play a teacher and shooting starts in June. I have worked with almost all the prominent stars in the industry. So after working with Mammookka, people wanted to know when I will be working with Lalettan. Of course, I’ve always wanted to work with him and the perfect opportunity is here.”
