'A special gift for a special visitor!': PM Modi receives horse in Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday received a horse named 'Kanthaka' from his Mongolian counterpart Chimed Saikhanbileg.

MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted a photograph of the unusual gift, saying, "A special gift for a special visitor!Mongolian PM gifts a horse to PM @narendramodi."

The Prime Minister, too, tweeted a photograph of the 'gift' he received. "With Kanthaka, a gift from Mongolia," he said.

Prime Minister Modi had earlier received a musical instrument, Morin Khuur, from President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj of Mongolia.

"The Morin Khuur, Music and Mongolia...a unique gift from President @elbegdorj," he tweeted.

The Prime Minister had presented President Elbegdorj a specially commissioned reproduction of a rare 13th century manuscript on the history of Mongols from the Rampur Raza Library.

Prime Minister Modi is currently on a one- day trip to Mongolia, where he attended the Mini-Naadam Festival in Ulaanbaatar. Prime Minister

Modi also addressed the Mongolian Parliament and announced one billion U.S. dollars Line of Credit to develop institutions, infrastructure and human resources in the country.
