HyderabadExperts from Austria, who had restored Vienna’s Danube river, will be inspecting the Hussainsagar, and propose techniques to clean the lake.

A delegation, led by M.G. Gopal, the principal secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, met the Austrian team on Saturday. Though they talked about ways to clean the Hussainsagar, de-watering the tank was not discussed.

The state government has asked the experts to give their proposals on how to restore the lake. The experts are from the health and environment department of the Austrian Institute of Technology, and they specialise in water treatment, mainly industrial waste and converting sea water into potable water.

Mr Gopal has asked the experts to inspect the lake, the adjoining nalas and surrounding areas. After a study, the officials will submit their proposals to the government.
