Hyderabad: The director, who has employed only Telangana employees for his film Hora Hori, got into a spot of bother as nearly 20 members of the AP Federation of Employees tried to stop the shooting on Friday evening at Visakhapatnam. Teja, however, is unfazed and says he has done nothing wrong. Importantly, Teja is rumoured to have the support of some Telangana politicians.

“Yes, some people came to the shooting spot and asked me to stop shooting. But I continued. They again tried to stop the shooting and asked the employees to stop work; I immediately called the police,” says Teja.
The police took the AP employees in custody and later released them after receiving assurance that they would not intervene in the shooting. “I am shooting today too,” said Teja on Saturday, adding, “My film is almost complete.”

Meanwhile, secretary of AP Film Federation Employees, Rajeshwar Reddy, says that they have asked all members not to cooperate with Teja. “We served notices to all the 24 crafts not to work with Teja as he has hired employees who do not belong to the AP Film Federation. He can work with any other federation member, but our members won’t work there,” says Reddy.

A source says that Teja meanwhile has the support of a few non-filmi organisations like Osmania University Students Union and also a few political leaders for his initiative to work with the Telangana Federation.

Teja meanwhile says that he does not know about the notice. “When they serve a notice, it should be given to me first. They should ask me for an explanation and then serve it. I hired some skilled employees and I am paying for their work. If I am not paying money and forcing them to work then anybody can question.”

The AP Federation employees recently got a 100 per cent salary hike, which has prompted some small producers to employ people from the recently-formed Telangana Film Federation. The issue might escalate further once Teja returns to Hyderabad from Vizag, warned sources.
