Chittoor killings: Murder case on Andhra Pradesh cops

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government on Wednesday told the Hyderabad High Court that it had already issued an FIR against unnamed police officers who had participated in the encounter killing of 20 woodcutters hired by red sanders smugglers in the Seshachalam hill ranges near Tirupati.

The FIR has been issued under Section 302 of the IPC on the complaint of Ms Muniammal, wife of one of the deceased.

A HC division bench was dealing with a petition seeking a direction to book a murder case under Section 302 of IPC against the police and order a CBI probe.
