Did Yuva Sena preempt Sania Mirza’s rise to World No 1?

Mumbai: A week after Saina Nehwal became only the second Indian and first female from the country to be World No 1, another Hyderabad girl, Sania Mirza, created history by becoming first Indian woman to reach to top of world rankings in tennis.

While many had hoped that Sania would reach at the pinnacle of the rankings, Yuva Sena, a youth wing Shivsena, had pre-empted Sania’s rise to the top of the rankings; albeit by mistake.

Following Saina reached at the top spot, a poster of the Mumbai based political party had gone viral. While Sania was at number three in the rankings following her BNP Paribas Open triumph, she was in touching distance from World No 1 position. And as she becomes the top-ranked doubles’ player in the world, is it safe to say that Yuva Sena pre-empt Sania’s rise to top of the world rankings?
