Veena-Vani’s UK stay to cost Rs 10cr

The doctors have agreed to operate upon them free of cost

Hyderabad: Doctors from the UK, who have been examining craniophagus conjoined twins Vaani and Veena, have agreed to operate upon the girls to surgically separate them. The doctors have agreed to operate upon them free of cost, but the state government will need to bear the expenses of their accommodation.

Paediatrician Dr K. Ramesh Reddy said, Dr David Dunaway and Dr Owase Jeelani from the Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, have sent a report. The report has been forwarded to the Telangana state government. The doctors said that the medical charges for the surgery would be waived off, but added that '10 crore for the accommodation, other checkups and medicinal costs for the surgery would have to be borne by the state government.
