Mumbai: Actress Shruti Haasan on Friday denied receiving any legal notice. Her spokesperson said, “Shruti or Rajkamal films International or her team have not received any legal notice or injunction from anyone.”

Shruti Haasan had found herself in a legal battle over a film she had signed with Picture House Media.

Shruti, who has been tied up with several projects this year, chose to opt out of Nagarjuna-Karthi’s starrer that is a remake of ‘The Intouchables’ over date issues.

The film’s shoot and first schedule was completed and unexpectedly Shruti conveyed through an email that she wanted to quit the project. However, the leading media house is not happy with Shruti’s last-minute withdrawal and has filed a legal notice for the same.

‘This unethical and unprofessional act of Shruti has resulted in Picture House Media Ltd incurring financial as well as reputation loss. Though the financial loss is running into several crores, it is the loss of time and reputation that is significant because the schedules of all other artists who have committed their dates will be disrupted,’ read a statement.

Picture House Media Ltd has initiated both civil and criminal proceedings against the actress and according to the company, an injunction order restraining Shruti from signing any new movie has been passed.

Shruti is juggling six films this year, including three from Bollywood. Working on such tight schedule had left Shruti no time that finally led to her quitting the project.
