Hyderabad: With all efforts to revoke their suspension proving futile, Telugu Desam MLAs are now planning a No-Confidence Motion against Speaker Madhusudhana Chary.

TD MLAs are upset with the Speaker for suspending them for the entire Assembly session for disrespecting the National Anthem during the Governor’s address, failure to take action against defectors, including commercial taxes minister T. Srinivas Yadav and ignoring the party in the allotment of seats.

Telugu Desam MLAs led by floor leader E. Dayakar Rao, A. Revanth Reddy and others met Congress Legislature Party leader K. Jana Reddy and sought the support of his party in favour their motion.

Mr Jana Reddy, however, was non-committal on the plea. “They came and met me. They explained their proposal. I heard them.”

It is learnt that TD legislators also discussed the no-confidence motion issue with AP CM and TD party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu in the assembly premises.

State BJP president G. Kishan Reddy asked that the government to revoke the suspension after giving TD MLAs a chance to apologise. “They should be given a chance to tender an apology. It is not correct to suspend them for the entire session,” Mr Reddy said.
