Datawind rolled out three new budget handsets -PocketSurfer 2G4, PocketSurfer 3G4 and PocketSurfer 3G5 which are priced under Rs 5,000 in the Indian market.

Datawind PocketSurfer 2G4 sports a 3.5-inch display and the PocketSurfer 3G4 features a 4-inch TFT display. Powered by a 1GHz Cortex A7 processor, PocketSurfer 3G4 runs on 4.4.2 KitKat operating system. The dual-SIM smartphone offers 256MB of RAM, 512MB of internal storage capacity. You can also expand the onboard memory up to 32GB via microSD card. It is fuelled by a 1200mAh Li-ion battery, which can deliver up to 4 hours of talk time.

Whereas, the PocketSurfer 3G5 features a 5-inch TFT display, runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and is powered by a 1.2GHz processor. It also offers 4GB of onboard memory, which is expandable to 32GB with microSD card. Datawind has tied up with Reliance Communications (RCoM) to offer free internet on these handset for one year.

The PocketSurfer 3G4 and PocketSurfer 3G5 sport a 5MP rear camera and 0.3MP front-facing camera. On its connectivity front, these smartphones support 3G, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi with Hotspot and Bluetooth.

Datawind PocketSurfer 3G4 is priced at 2,999 and PocketSurfer 3G5 will be available for Rs 4,999 in India.
