Unity in emoji-diversity

We have spent most of our digital lives sending each other emojis. But Apple’s plan to take emojis one step further, has spent most of this week, in hell. Why? Because of the company’s yellow  emojis — meant specifically to describe Asians.

The plan — ironically aimed at creating diversity — has come under fire in China, Japan and most of what’s considered as the Asian countries. And it’s not just the skin tone or race. Apple is also unveiling an emoji that shows two men holding hands — could be ‘bro love’ or just a nod at how acceptance of sexuality has evolved.
