Sooraj called the experience of being a part of the show, enriching. “As an actor, one gets to dabble in various characters with distinct personalities. And I am certain Iltutmish as a father will stand out,” he said.
Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan will voice as a sutradhaar in the show. The actor took time to rehearse the lines as the diction had to match the era that he had to speak about.
The actress has done a lot of research for the role and has put in hours of practice learning sword fighting and horse riding.
She said, "While we all speak about gender equality, Emperor Iltutmish, Razia's father, appointed his daughter as the rightful heir to the throne basis meritocracy. I hope this story strikes a chord with the audience."
Pankhuri who is also known as a VJ, said she is thrilled to have grabbed a powerful role.
The makers assured the audience of a gritty storytelling, opulent sets and costumes.
The show’s curtain raiser saw the entire cast in attendance- Pankhuri Awasthi plays the lead character Razia whereas Sooraj Thapar will be playing the role of Iltutmish.
