‘Sunrise state’ missions yet to take off
Mr Naidu had set up seven missions
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Cabinet ministers and senior IAS officers have not yet acted on Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s plans for developing AP the as ‘sunrise state’. Mr Naidu had set up seven missions and appointed Cabinet ministers as chairmen for each mission while senior IAS officers were appointed as mission coordinators. To achieve the goals, each mission has to prepare budget proposals and send it to the finance department. Mr Naidu has given directions on the activities to be taken up by every mission.
The finance department is holding preparatory Budget meetings with each department and discussing Budget proposals. Officials were repeatedly asked to send proposals of each mission as desired by Mr Naidu. Officials concerned with each mission have to meet and discuss the proposals for the next financial year. But none of the officials concerned with the seven missions have met. Officials in-charge of some of the missions have not even held preliminary meetings also. Mr Naidu is conducting review meetings regarding the missions, but ministers have not been holding any meetings on their own.
