Hyderabad Metro Rail wants a hike before first run

L&T now wants the minimum increased to Rs 14 and maximum to Rs 35

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail fares are set to be hiked even before the first service rolls out on Ugadi. The government had notified Rs 8 as the minimum fare and a maximum of Rs 19 in April 2011 for the 8-km Nagole to Mettuguda run.

Project developer L&T now wants the minimum increased to Rs 14 and maximum to Rs 35. The new proposed fare for unlimited usage during the day is Rs 50, against Rs 40 earlier.
