Hyderabad: An 18-month-old baby boy, a twin, was allegedly kidnapped by an unidentified woman at the Jubilee Bus Station in Secunderabad on Saturday night.

The kidnap of boy took place when the boy’s mother handed him over to another woman while trying to control her other sons.

Marredpally police said B. Rajitha of Ganeshnagar, Karimnagar, had come to Habsiguda along with her mother Vijaya in the morning.  She along with her kids Vidvan, 4, Arun, 3 and the newborn twin came to JBS to take a bus back to Karimnagar. She had left her other twin son with her husband in Karimnagar.

At the bus station, while Vijaya was going to the washroom, Arun started following her. To control him, Rajitha handed over the newborn to a woman, who she told the police was around 50 years of age. When she returned, both the woman and child were missing. They searched all possible places but in vain. Based on a complaint, Marredpally police booked a case of kidnap and took up investigation. Marredpally inspector B. Ravindra Reddy said three special teams have been formed to trace the kid. Surprisingly, there were no surveillance cameras at the place of the incident.
