‘Rare talent’ Mohammad Amir should be forgiven and allowed to play: Wasim Akram
Former Pakistan speedster believes tainted bowler has learnt from his mistakes
London: Former Pakistan pace spearhead Wasim Akram believes that tainted bowler Mohammad Amir should be forgiven and allowed to play cricket in view of realising and learning from his mistakes.
Reflecting on ICC's decision to permit Amir to play domestic cricket, Akram said that he was pleased to see Amir being given the chance to play again a little sooner than first thought as he had learnt from his mistakes.
Describing Amir as a rare talent, Akram said that he had done his time and they should forgive and forget, and let him move on and play his cricket again, the Mirror reported.
Amir was handed a five year ban for his involvement in the infamous spot-fixing scandal in a Test against England at Lord's in 2010, with the five-year ban was scheduled to expire on September 2 this year.
