Hyderabad: The Telangana Congress will organise a huge rally from Gandhi Bhavan to Raj Bhavan on February 7, to protest against the proposed shifting of the Secretariat and Erragadda Chest hospital. “We have been warning the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao not to disturb existing structures and offices under the pretext of vaastu. Since he is going ahead, we decided to protest against it till the government withdraws its moves,” TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah announced during a press conference on Thursday.

He said the TRS government that came with a promise of rebuilding Telangana into a golden state, doesn’t need to move all existing structures or demolish them to suit the CM’s superstitions. The move to shift the offices will be strongly resisted as the people of Telangana will suffer the most, Mr Ponnala added.

“We will take out a huge rally on Febru-ary 7 where partymen across Telangana will participate. We will meet the Governor and submit a memorandum against shifting of the Secretariat,” the TPCC president said.

Mr Ponnala also decried the comments of the CM on Wednesday to a private news channel calling the historical Hyderabad city as a dirty and  ugly city. “If a CM talks like this about the state capital, how can we expect foreign investments and top industrialists to invest in Hyderabad?” Mr Ponnala asked.
