Tollywood director Puri Jagannath has had a busy start to the year, as he looks forward to the release of his next film, Temper, starring Jr NTR.

But despite all the things that he wanted to tell us about his upcoming projects, he first got to the rumours that have been affecting him and the lead actress of his next  Charmme.

“Let me be very clear. I’m not having an affair with Charmme. The media has written false tales about us merely because she meets me frequently as she is playing the title role in my next film, Jyothi Lakshmi.

When we work with an actor, male or female, we need to be in touch with them regularly. Merely because we are seen discussing the role, content etc. people have presumed wrongly.”

On working with Jr NTR, he says, “It is always a wonderful and fantastic experience as he gets into the skin of the character with immense dedication.  This is my second collaboration with Jr NTR after a span of 11 years. And all through these years, I really missed working with him.”

Talking about the upcoming film Temper, Puri says, “It’s about a highly corrupt and cunning cop who later transforms into a honest police officer.  We chose the title Temper as it signifies the hero’s character that has attitude, arrogance and is defiant. This story is a novel theme and is not inspired by anyone in real life.”

When asked why Kajal Aggarwal, the female lead in Temper, hasn’t managed to make a mark in Bollywood, Puri says, “I don’t know much about Kajal’s Bolly-wood career. But I can confidently say that she has a strong following here. Down South, she is a rockstar. This is my second collaboration with Kajal Aggarwal.”

Puri directed only one Bollywood film, Buddha Hoga Tera Baap, with Amitabh Bachchan. Are there any more Hindi films planned? “Because of certain prior commitments, I am busy here in Tollywood.

But I am certainly looking forward to venturing into Bollywood again,” says Puri, adding, “I am definitely going to start a Hindi film this year, but I don’t know yet with whom I am going to work.  But one day I will surely work with Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, as I am a big fan of both.”
