Officials have also surveyed lands near the Shamshabad airport in Mamidipally village for the Parade Ground.

Hyderabad: The CMO itself is “leaking” information on building an ultra-modern integrated Secretariat complex. However, senior officials doubt these claims of the government on the grounds that the Erragadda lands fall under the Begumpet airport area and there is no question of the Centre giving approval to build structures above 10 floors here. Moreover, the existing Secretariat is enough for the TS government. With the AP government planning to shift all its departments to Vijayawada, all these blocks will become vacant.

“UoH was allotted 2,566 acre in Gachibowli in 1975. But it has lost 781 acre so far with the government allotting land to various institutions. The TS government is looking to take over another 50-60 acre. It is believed that it is for the Parade Ground,” said a revenue official.

Officials have also surveyed lands near the Shamshabad airport in Mamidipally village for the Parade Ground. Speculations are rife that the state aims to auction these prime lands to private parties to implement its various poll promises and that Parade Ground is only an excuse.
