Rollkers, a new product out of Dijon, France, is an innovative product that stands to revolutionize the way we walk. Users simply affix Rollkers to the bottom of their shoes and gain the immediate ability to reach speeds up to seven miles per hour simply by walking or strolling normally.

To cover long distances, most people use public transportation in order to save time. Between overcrowded buses and subways and the lack of freedom, stress tends to arise; not to mention the negative environmental impacts of smog from vehicular emissions. Bicycles, scooters, and skates are popular but can be cumbersome and/or dangerous when used in major cities.

Rollkers were developed to combat these issues and provide a healthier, more environmentally friendly and increasingly reliable form of transportation. There is no large equipment to lug around; simply attach to your shoe and gain a major leg up on those around you. Now approaching the final stage of their research and development phase, Rollkers had a fully functioning prototype in time for CES.

At the show, patrons experienced for themselves the innovative nature of the product. Unlike inline skates, Rollkers are immediately balancing and require no specific training. These qualities provide ease of use and optimal results for even the first-time user, no matter the age. At the 2013 Inventions in Geneva Exhibition, Rollkers earned the silver medal for the transport category.
