HyderabadTelangana lawyers lodged a complaint with the law minister asking him to take action against the film-makers of Venkatesh-Pawan Kalyan starrer  Gopala Gopala for denigrating lawyers in the film.
 
The lawyers met  law minister A. Indrakaran Reddy on Friday and  requested  him to take immediate steps to delete the objectionable scenes from the film. Mr Reddy said he had not watched the movie and he would get a report on the issue and take action.
 
Saying that the delay in bifurcation of the High court has led to some problems in Telangana, the minister said, “Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has already taken initiative with the Centre for early bifurcation of the High Court. We have written to the Centre. We expect a positive decision soon from the Centre,” he said.
 
Bar Council chairman Narasimha Reddy, BJP leader and member N. Ramachander Rao, Telangana Nyavadula Sangham president Pradeep and others met the minister in this regard. The minister released a diary and calendar brought out by the advocates.
 
The advocates cited problems in promotions, enrolment of advocates and the urgent need for a separate Bar Council for Telangana. The state is taking all steps for lawyers’ welfare, the minister said.
